KACHOU Screen (birds and flowers) Painted in 1750's
 Color painted on gold leat paper. Kachou is one of the styles of Japanese painting. These styles involved painting different parts of nature. Kachoufuugetu is one of the style which had to include birds, wind, flowers and the moon. This screen is made of gold leaf paper and contains bird and flowers. This is called the Kachou style.

KOIMARI (shaped sea bream) Painted in 1800's
 During the Edo period, Imari were very precious and valuable as they still are. The Imari plates were used during special cerebrations such as wedding, Osyougatu(New Year's days) and festivals. It is an important Japanese custom to use Tai-sea breams for cerebration dishes. This is because the word for celebration is Medetai, the last syllabus is Tai which is also the Japanese a word for sea bream. This Imari is s shaped Tai-sea bream, so it is east to assume the hosts served sashimi with it at a special times.      

      
 The Struggle of Genpei Painted in 1800's
These paintings were pictured based on the Genpei battle story. the battle was broken out end of Heian era, it is more than 900 years ago.

Ukiyoe (Painted by Sharaku and in 1794 or 1795)
  Maybe nobody is more mysterious than Sharaku Toshusai. He painted Ukiyoe just for two years. However he brought out many paintings and all his works are just excellent. It is said it is impossible to paint so many just for two years. So some experts say some painters must be Sharaku. Even now Sharaku is veiled with mystery and attract a lot of people. Who do you think Sharaku is?

Noh Kimono Painted in 1850's
 This is a special kimono only for Noh," Japanese mime theater." Noh was originally performed only for the god Sinto. Noh is a form of theater older than Kabuki.

 Color painted on gold leat paper In Japan, only bulls fight on the bullring for bullfight. In Spain, a man try to kill a bull, but in Japan, bullfight is a sort of Sumo for bulls.

 In Japan, people have always enjoyed viewing beautiful cherry blossom while enjoying a lesuirely Bento box lunch. During the Edo period, people used the cherry blossom season to arrange meeting and family gathering. There are many famous historical spots around Japan. The Sumida River in Tokyo has been a popular spot since Edo period. This scroll is painted by Hokuba Teisa, he was a Ukiyoe painter. He painted directory onto silk paper, this scroll is not printed!
